Two monoclonal antibodies, specific to native monomeric calcitonin recognizing the 23 – 32 amide region and the 11 – 17 region respectively, are used for the sandwich. The first antibody is adsorbed onto the tube walls. The second one, radiolabeled with iodine-125, is used as the tracer.
One-step assay procedure: 20-24h at RT.
Working range: 1.5 – 1500 pg/mL (1µIU 2nd IS 89/620 = 3.6 pg CIS)
Sample: serum pretreated by heating 30 min at 56°C – 200 µL
Analytical sensitivity: 1.5 pg/mL
Functional sensitivity: 4.0 pg/mL
